Are you kidding me? You guys hadn't heard of Satriani before? He's super-well-known. He has like twenty or thirty albums and the list of famous and successful bands he's tutored is a mile long (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Satriani).

Ouch. It sometimes happens that you pick something up and then later when being creative "come up with" that something. cold comfort to both parties though. sucks to be in that fight.

On the other hand playing both together does sound cool aside from where the notes are discordant with each other.

There was another guy who accused Coldplay of copying Viva la Vida: http://perezhilton.com/2008-06-17-coldplay-plag...

I think it turned out to be unsubstantiated, but nonetheless...

Joe is a modern day Jimi Hendrix. Not many people who follow the Pop music market would know of him. But on an International level he is widely known as a guitar virtuoso/God.

Yeah, no. Imagine if the Beatles sued someone every time a song kind of, sort of, sounded similar in parts.

Oh, and someone else has already claimed that Coldplay stole this song from them...
