Especially after at least 2 documented incidents where Verizon refused to enable the GPS cell phone feature in emergencies due to "security" reasons. The first was when a baby (and the owners phone) was in a hijacked car and the police contacted Verizon but they refused to cooperate. Luckily the vehicle was found by a third-party and the baby was okay. The second incident involved a hijacked (and then abandoned) car with a dog (and the phone) inside and the animal died because the vehicle was not found in time by the authorities. Verizon told the owner/cell phone customer that to activate the GPS they required signed paperwork faxed to their business office due to security procedures.
