  • Wow what irony. Especially after at least 2 documented incidents where Verizon refused to enable the GPS cell phone feature in emergencies due to "security" reasons. The first was when a baby (and the owners phone) was in a hijacked car and the police contacted Verizon but they refused to cooperate. Luckily the vehicle was found by a third-party and the baby was okay. The second incident involved a hijacked (and then abandoned) car with a dog (and the phone) inside and the animal died because the vehicle was not found in time by the authorities. Verizon told the owner/cell phone customer that to activate the GPS they required signed paperwork faxed to their business office due to security procedures. And now they send out their employee's private email addresses? Unbelievable.
