  • Well, you have to understand that those countries are a lot smaller and it's much easier to get the infrastructure in place than in somewhere like the US, which is large and sprawled out.
  • Square footage of japan is less than a quarter that of california.

    If you don't have to span one of the largest continents in the world for one of the lowest population densities (same here in Canada) - then your datacentres can be WAY WAY stronger.

    Here we have distance to contend with - and until you figure a way to connect cities hundreds of miles apart with seemingly near infinite speed... then you're gonna have slow speeds in big countries.
