You would do much better reporting something of actual significance. Yes I am Pro China because I am Chinese, and I say if your going to bash us, at least China bash something significant. *cough cough* human rights?

This was a performance, and even BOCOG with its limitless resources needs to abide by some spending limits. Some of China's minorities number less than a few thousand, living in far off mountain ranges, or on the fringes of the boarder. For the sake of a performance, wouldn't it be so much more cost efficient, saving on costs and auditions to grab a bunch of kids from a local artschool?

Do I need to mention the trivial fact the torch lighter Li Ning is of Zhuang minority? China treats its minority groups far, FAR better than Western countries. Instead of treating this news as a "scandal", perhaps you can report on something more news worthy.

You missed the point. It was supposed to be literally represented by the minorities not by performers PRETENDING to be minorities.

Fake? these kind of news are just full of bias and racism by mixing with partial facts. It's just an act, who cares about who's wearing it. Base on this kind of logic maybe colored ppl should not sing the part of Cosette or Fantine in Les Miserables since they are "slaves" in the 18th century. IN FACT THE TOP PERFORMANCES EVER IN LES MIS ARE PERFORMED BY ACTORS/ACTRESSES WITH MORE SKIN MELANIN.

can learn a lot about pragmatism, and how china regards it. not everyone in the world has the same concepts about individuality as the "west". the show is the thing, the costume was the story, who wore it didn't matter. group consciousness is what this is about.

and with the rise of collective consciousness through hyper-connectivity, the "west" will have a more difficult adjustment than the "east".
