For the record, I fall into this category. I ended up buying an iPhone 2G from a girl who had just got the 3G for $75. Unlocked and use on t-mobile's pay as you go plan which costs about $15 a month for me (150 minutes). It's interesting to see that that's not abnormal.

I only make $400 a month with a part time job...
