I can't believe you actually got hate mail over that. I must be totally screwed cuz not only am I into affiliate marketing and MLM, but I'm black AND American. Good post, though. I like how you make the distinction between the two. This is something I was writing about just recently.

I can't stand sales weasels. I used to be one. I'm sure there are currently hundreds of people around the US locked into cellular contracts I sold them on. MLM guys have a tendency to try and stick people with stuff they don't want or need. Stupid part is, marketing that way rarely leads to success.

I agree! I have done both before, I am now doing affiliate marketing and the two do have their distinct differences! Thanks for standing up for us affiliate marketers.

Some people are just ignorant, and just need to be shown the truth about things.

That was so flipping irresponsible of Mark to lump affiliate marketing in with known scams.

There's a huge difference between passionately speaking about your beliefs and knowingly spreading misinformation to push your own profile or agenda. Mark can't NOT know that companies like Target and Disney run affiliate programs.

If I ran a blog network (which I do) and one of my authors wrote that post (which I don't), I'd fire him or her immediately.

I also trust Mashable a hell of a lot less now.

wow i can't believe you got an hate mail.That sucks man.Even i have purchased Secret Affiliate Code from Craig Beckta.It's worth the money. But you to spend some time understanding every bit of it.
