  • Good article. I think USV play it very smartly. Not many VCs do the many small deals that they do (e.g. Zemanta), so they can play in later rounds. BTW, it is Covestor (no Coinvest).
  • you got it right Duncan, we are not angels or gods and we do not walk on water. we make a lot of mistakes and i apparently made one back in that comscore episode. i will go pretty far to defend the companies we invest in when mis-impressions are being spread. maybe i went too far that time. sorry about that. i bet we've both done that a few times.

my take on the piece is here

  • And how exactly is it wrong to invest in subsequent rounds after a small initial round? And how is it wrong to also start with a big investment in a company without investing small early on?

I'm a startup founder and i would love to see 1 million from a venture capitalist with a good network at track record. And i would run very fast, very far, would that venture capitalist try to explain to me that he/she was doing it because the Almighty believes my venture is the next best thing to turning water into wine.

What's the point of this article? Sounds to me like a tainted ego more than a correction post. We're not dumb readers and can differentiate between what may be a favorable article and a religious sermon.
