You need to move to France as they just announced here that the newspaper industry (and specifically ailing newspapers) will now get a 2 Billion boost from the government to help it survive the recession!

It is tough being in the newspaper business at this time. With the economy in the tank and many getting there news online no wonder the papers are suffering.

At the end of the day, more and more of us come up on the chopping block. So you have to work a little harder, work a little smarter, sharpen all your tools. There is a little good to this, it is truly a shame to those who have lost jobs who did not deserve to lose them.

Job losses are the worst thing in a recession. It is also one of the key indicators to look at when watching for the recovery.

When the news starts telling us a recovery is underway look at the unemployment figures for the true picture if the rate of decline is slowing then possibly, If not then no recovery is underway.

I just dont understand how people are supposed to get their news that aren't internet savvy. My parents are in their 80s and if my Dad couldn't read his daily paper - he's croak. With more and more news organizations laying people off, it's just a matter of time before the doors close!

it is really too bad to hear that people all over the world losing jobs , here also in Dubai so crazy and companies are taking a big adavantge of that to get ride of so many people too
