I think your logic is a little bit flawed.
Google specifically states that individual site level information from Google Analytics isn’t currently used in Trends for Websites. So it isnt directly picking up data like page views. Instead it’s accumulating other indirect data from analytics like hits other websites (with analytics installed) are sending your way to gauge net traffic received by your website.
And oh, it accumulates this anonymous data only if you opt-into its data sharing program.
But, even then I believe that Google Trends will be able to give a more accurate picture than other similar services due to the vast amount of data available exclusively to google.
