With RSS readers that de-emphasize the auhor name, most of the time I read an article on TC, I have no idea who actually wrote it, much less their gender. If it's interesting, I read the whole thing, if I don't care for the topic or coverage style, I skim it or move on.

I love Sarah Lacy. She did not give up after her interview with Zuckerberg, and she has become more and more experienced. At Gnomedex, I found her a breath of fresh air, especially because women at Gnomedex are relatively rare (well, I was there, but I don't count). I think she's well-informed, she's a professional reporter, and she will do fine. And trust me, after what she went through with the Zuckerberg interview, Mike's trolls won't scare her.

Leena Rao, a newly hired writer at Tech Crunch, has been posting some really insightful stuff. Perhaps like Natalia, here stuff attracts comments with a discernible misogynistic tone. My hope is that she'll ignore and keep posting...Tech Crunch needs her.

Though I highly value and respect your opinion Duncan, she just rubs me the wrong way. The first time I saw her was on Gnomedex's live stream screaming into the camera insulting the viewers. CLASSY. Then when I Googled her, I watched a few of her videos (Google talk's author day and the infamous Mark Zuckerberg interview) that made me cringe. THEN I saw her on Yahoo Finance where she http://www.air-shox.com conducted another extremely unprofessional interview with her guest- talking over him and acting like an airhead. Hopefully she'll change my mind at TC, since you hold her in such high regard.

She'll make it. I know first hand how tough she is and how much she doesn't care what others think. Sarah Lacy is made of steel, even though she annoys me at times.
