Gmail gets Themes

Google has announced themes for its email service Gmail.
The new Gmail themes offer 30 initial choices away from the standard Gmail layout, in a similar offering to what Google has been providing to iGoogle users.

give them some time, the roll-out isn't immediate but everyone should have access by the end of the week

I honestly dont see the point of google doing this... only the people who own the email address are going to see the theme so other than self satisfaction - whats the point? I dont think its going to make google mail any more popular or maybe im just missing something
