Hello! my name is CC and whoever is interested to know. We have a lot of tarsier here in the Philippines. They're absolutely tiny and adorable. Here's an interesting trivia, according to the locals of Bohol, Philippines, the female tarsier only allows 10 secs of time to open its reproductive organ for a male to plant its seeds during mating season. After 10 secs, it's closing time!, the male better be out by that time. Funny, but that's what the locals have observed.

there are different kinds/ species of tarsiers. this species is called pygmy tarsier and the ones in Philippines are called Philippine tarsiers. they look completely different.
  • mel1968 · 11 months ago
I will have to disagree with you tarsiers, they actually look just alike..
  • nathan · 11 months ago
Philippines have lots of Tarsiers. However, I am not sure if they are Pygmy Tarsiers. But if you want to hold tarsiers that is the place to go to. Google Philippine Tarsiers for photos and info.

Yes...there are a lot in Philippines. But in this case (Sulawesi) this is the first time in 80 years they (the scientist) came face to face with a live one.

We also have them here in Borneo but very hard to see them in the wild unless you spent your time more in the jungle. I myself, the last time I saw these creature in the late 70's. Thanks for all the info, someday I would like to come and visit Bohol.

What redescover are you saying? Go to Philippines, the island of Bohol, many tourists visited this island to see this tarsier, this is one of the tourist attractions in the Philippines a long time ago and until now this island is frequently visited by tourists to make a glimpse of this smallest monkey of the world. However, in this island too, you can see the beautiful chocolate hills, the forest river boat dining and definitely the beautiful beaches in this island. Good luck.
