The Inquisitr: Four ways Google could destroy Digg

Interesting, I used the Google will not change much approach as a benefit to Digg users. I was thinking of youTube and how it has not changed except for using Google Accounts. Another interesting idea is that you seem worried that Digg functionality will stagnate, would that be new? Thanks for bringing up feedburner though, I had totally forgotten about that one.

1.) You forgot Dodgeball, which could have been "loopt" several years before the iPhone
2.) Jaiku WOULD be the leader in microblogging/lifestreaming. They were the best of Twitter AND FriendFeed AND an address book to boot. Could have gone far had it not been for the big G.

I'm hoping they leave Digg to manage itself, but I see that highly as doubtful. The examples here are great and pretty truthful. This does not mean that all Google acquisitions are 'doomed', but the 'unloved' category seems to fit. Again if the acquisition does go through.. I just hope Digg is allowed to exist pretty much on its own. As for integration, well besides Google Accounts, I could see an integration of the Google Reader's share and note features being nice.
