Feedly is a new Firefox extension (it also works in Flock) that has received a lot of buzz over the last 24 hours among the first adopter set. The plugin turns services such as Google Reader into a sort of home page come dashboard.

  • It seems like you'd need to take a few weeks to get used to it. I installed it last night but it was difficult to tell what needed my attention next. I like cut-and-dried 'read' or 'not read!'

    I also don't like how it writes to Google Reader. I deleted a feed by accident in Feedly and was surprised to see the same feed gone in GR without as much as a confirmation prompt.
  • Thanks Duncan. You are right on: Google Reader is offering an awesome service for hardcore RSS users. We are trying to see if we can bring some of the goodness of RSS and social sharing to the rest of the people. Thanks for taking the time to review feedly!
