I have only been using Dropbox for all of 24 hours, but I think I am in love. I have been looking for a way to share files between my 2 computers AND quickly send files to friends. Dropbox is fast and works like you would expect. Really well done.

Duncan,
The reason that it feels so fast is the files are stored locally.
You still have them on your machine, they are only updated when you update them, your not pulling them down from a server.

Dropbox is using local files. It syncs changes to other computers and the cloud. But when you save/open files it is to a local folder on the PC/Mac

I've been using dropbox for around 7 months now and absolutely love it. It hasn't yet turned into my #1 'cloud storage' system - that spot is firmly secured by Jungledisk however dropbox's features just work really really well.
