Disqus releases a full public API

Commenting 2.0 startup Disqus has launched a full public API for the first time, allow developers to build new tools that utilize Disqus.

Open Platform ftw! I wonder if bookmarking sites are going to follow in ma.gnolia.'s footsteps. Now that I think about it, this is crazy. From mobile, to browsers, apps, web apps, web sites - they're slowly opening up... now we wait for all the OSs and desktop app / suite giants to follow suit... wow. This is SUCH an exciting time!!

Unfortunately for Disqus, I think this is too little too late.

Their thousands of blogs cannot compare to the millions of Wordpress.com and .org blogs.

So, I think this is moot.
