Deccan Mujahideen claims responsibility for Mumbai attacks

An organization calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for attacks in Mumbai India that have killed at least 80 people and wounded over 250.

    yes very optimistic of you and your community, instead of facing and solving the issues within muslim community of India you guys are always cribbing and doing nothing to solve it. Now that the Malegaon case has surfaced the way it is, you guys are behaving like ignorant kids of this great country of ours. Introspection within our respective communities is required on a scale never imagines before. Young men aged between 20-30 are being brainwashed in muslim neighborhoods and still you guys are keeping you eyes closed. If muslims want to be a respected community in India they have to prove it by doing good deeds and helping in curbing this menace of mujahidins creeping in muslim mindset for the first time in the history of our country.     there was news published in Times of India about one month ago that there has been 4 occasions in when there was a holocaust in my great country India. and 3 occasion Muslim was burn, Killed, gang raped and children was killed, These people even raped the women who was pregnant and raped children who even don't have any idea about the harassment. What has happened in Gujarat, 1992 Babri Masjid and every day BJP, RSS, VHP and Banjrang Dal is torturing Minorities in India along with police. DO you have any idea what is happening to Christian.

    Whoever has done this has committed an act of violence against the whole society. If it is proved that it was committed by a so called Jihadi group.     Fellow Indians, regardless of any religion we follow, we are human being first, and religions don't teaches or preaches murders or cruelity any sort of that.

    Bottonline is indian govt. need to take accountability for security and intelligence lacks and act immediately to fill the cracks, so that country can be strengthen.

    It is clearly evident, this act in Mumbai has been carried out with clear motive of getting international attention. My prayers goes with all innocent people who have died.

    Yes, Islam does abhor violence, yet isn't it the "Muslims" causing trouble all around the world! Take for example, Afghanistan, Central Asian Countries, Pakistan, etc. The fact is, depite the teachings of the Holy Prophet and others, the Muslims cannot live in peace with the civilisation at large. The sooner they learn to live in co-existence- as there scriptures say, it is said and I do believe it to be true, the better it will be not only for the 'Muslims" but for the whole world/civilisation.

    I am sick and tired of Muslims killing civilians. I am very close to the verge of no longer caring about any of their legitimate grievances. If the Muslim world and its supporters, including those posting on this site, cannot outright CONDEMN attacks on civilians like this, than it is time for the rest of the world to TURN OR BACKS ON ISLAM. It is time for us isolate them in their countries, where they can be free to impose Sharia, rape 13 year old girls and then stone them for adultery, throw acid on girls trying to go to school, murder and silence innocent people, and all of their other retrograde social agendas. No more tolerance. No more sensitivity. No more acceptance. Governements and nations have a right to defend themselves against attacks on their populations. And in this case it is easy to see who the enemy is, though it is harder to see the individual.     Sanket etc, I don't challenge your intelligence but want to remind you that those arrested terrorist will be kept safe and fed enough despite the court order to hang them as far as I can speculate about possibility. These is the secular Cong's policy. Let me remind you the history.
    Congress was formed by Dr. A O Hume from the then Royal military in 1884 to destroy India through conspiracy (yes I am talking about the same Congress which is ruling us). Then it effort was diluted and it did some efforts towards independence but soon after 1947 I think it has come back to its old agenda-destroyiny the country.
    So, Afjal Guru type of people are kept like the son of the congress party and in my opinion Cong were waiting for some extremists to come and take Indians as hostage for Afjal and other extremists.
    Since we are a democratic and highly civilised country we hate capital punishment (despite cout order) no matter how many times we are attacked, and we will show that we are nice enough by not hanging the terrorists. At least it helps Cong get some moniroty vote at any cost.

    Give me the facts if I am wrong n the above.

    I am sad about the country's future but don't know what to do.

    Well after reading the above content of the email............I just want to ask the Deccan Mujhaideen and their supporte that may be its true that the Police official had created the nuicance and treated their brothers badly. I agree that this things should not be done at all. I want to raise one point that Why these terror organization hitting the innocent person. They should come up with valid proofs and kill those bstrds who had done this to your comunity. Killing innocent people wont serve any thing. Do these group thinks that the guilty person would feel sad the answer is a BIG NO. If they want to have a good behaviour to their community why dont you kill those political bullshit. I beleive killing these political bullshit would bring their image positive in the market.

    One more thing the trrorist group are creating muslims image more bad among the minds of the people of the country and due to this the muslim today not able to get a good respect in any country.

    I think the reason given behind the attack is just to satisfy some personal motives.......

    What i think these are some reasons behind it:

    1) Some Countries are supporting these terrorist just to unbalance the Indian society
    2) May be some hindu group is behind the attack just to tarnish muslim community image
    3) May be some Hindu terrorist is playing politics just to take revenge of Sadhvi conviction

    So there may be numerous reasons and without knowing any reason how can we take such a big conclusion.

    If terrorist want to take revenge take it guys but dont kill the innocent people. Kill the guilty person. Killing innocent people wont do any thing.

    Masood, as per your comments it signifies that you are talking about like a dumb, if u talking about extremism 99% terrorist attack is done by Muslim extremist. And if take a example of USA after 9/11 there is no terrorist attack in USA, but why it is happening almost in every month in India, can you tell? You can’t answer! I think the Govt in the center is only elected by the Muslim of India or India is not a secular country, it is a country where minorities are safer than the majors. After the Delhi blast one of our premier leader told the reporters that after 9/11 the steps taken by then USA Govt can’t be applicable in India, why cant you take similar type of steps, coz India has 20% of Muslims! And it is a big vote bank of some political parties, Every time they (terrorist) say that they doing this kind of things for the treatment that we are giving to the Muslims or they are doing this kind of things for Gujarat riots or for the demolition of babri musjid. I think more people are died in terrorist attack than in post independent riots and may be a million of temples are demolished by the ruling Muslim emperor in their era. Can you answer my questions?     why do we say that attacking the ATS is bearable? PEACEFUL DIALOGUE IS AN OPTION. It might take a little longer to actualize, but when has violence ever got anything done?     Its absurd and really a problem that such attacks keep happening. If not, then y r we scared of small countries like Bangladesh or Nepal, where lots of terrorist activities are going on ...Guwahati explosions are a recent example and with Pakistan, well, we have a long history. When there was a terrorist attack in US (9/11)...they set their base camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan to fight terrorism....to reply to those attacks. US attacked Israiel to fight terrorism , then y cant we do the same ?? Y not we pressurise countries like Pak, Nepal or Bangladesh and let us set our camps over there ? y not our govt ready to take some strict actions against those culprits ? y are we against capital punishment ??     I am a bangladeshi studying law in london.Before i indulge myself in expressing my comments regarding the issue , my condolence to all the families and freinds who lost there loved ones. A lot has been said.Some suggested that there should be a war against the whole islamic community, some that there should be camps in bangladesh, nepal,some even said that muslims should have there own country.And some impliedly justified the attacks by providing statsitics to what happened to the muslim minority in India. i can understand that evberyone is upset about whatever happened, but is it actually what you guys think is the solution. I am from bangladesh where 90% of the population are muslim, even we have terrorist attacks by muslims. Whta should we do kill 90% of our population.that would be scene to watch....reliogions do not promote violence...not a single one...Yes islam does have room for violence but for self defence...however u have to make sure that there is no collateral damge...India is great country....and the only county in the world who got there independece through non violence.....this is a minute problem.....in compare to the situation in 1947.....Tolerence should not always be seen as a weakness but as a sign ...that you have patience...and you shall overcome this problem...jus a matter of time....so brothers i know this is a hard time ....but dont hate each other for this or call names....this wont help anything....i hope and i really hope that we do not have abny more bombings any part of the world.

    I consider myself secular...I am a doctor. I do not discriminate people on the basis of class, creed, color, caste or religion...It goes against my very soul to do that...A lot of my friends are Muslim's but I see them as my friend before I see him as a Muslim (if at all the thought crosses my mind) But I do have to confess...the acts of terror that occur slowly manage to sow the seed of doubt and religious bias in my mind...I fight it as much as I can & sometimes now I find myself failing.. Why is it that most of the terror attacks are by Muslims? Why is it that they think that they are the only people who suffer? If Islam teaches to defend...then why do these people offend?

    There is a limit to anyone's patience & tolerance & when that limit is breached...there will be violence in return... Pent up fury will find a release...I can stop that feeling of revenge...My education will help me do that... but what about the average Indian who loses kith & kin...Will he swallow the pain for eternity?

    These acts seem crazy to me. Taking lives of people in the name god is not correct. No religion will accept this. As an Indian, I don't discriminate between a muslim or any other religion. I don't see a reason why people should go to such an extent to kill innocent civilians. These terrorist and their so called supporting groups are insane. What happened to our intelligence network? Such horrible attacks are not possible without local assistance. Our intelligence agency was sleeping when all this was being planned.     Killing innocent people is outright wrong. This things will keep happening until Indian justice system is freed from Hindus running it based on majority control. There is not justice for victims of Gujrat riots, Orisa riots, or 84 Sikh riots. Indian Govt. gave free hand to army and police in Kashmir, Punjab, and other places to kill terrorist but those bastards abused the power to kill innocent people and their brothers become mujahideens or terrorists or freedom fighters. Fix the police and justice system and these things will stop. The real question is how seriously were these threats taken by the Indian authorities.

    I read some comments against muslims and some muslims wrote against Hindus...but truth is Muslim should understand and even they know that some of their frinds are involved in these terrorist activities....My question is when these people hate India and Indians, why not you go to Pakistan, Afghanistan why are you here in India.

    i dont seriously get why people r figting about in these dicussions.... its all political and some religious staunchness... religion was earlear formed and spread to unite and support the society when there was not much else to do and hence give people internal mental support... but now its time when thousands of regions have come up and we human r more clear about democracy and r more scientifically and mentally advance... we need to to remove staunchness from religions and and from science and music as religion... this is the only way we cud unite ..this modern world... i dont say get rid of religions ..we still need the..but there has to something better uniting us and hence we cud loose all the disparities :) ...

    i totally agree with mayur, cud not have said it better. its sad that our country seems like it wont realize its full potential. been through centuries of colonization, regional and communal tensions, lots and lots and lots terror strikes all over the country. BUT this is unprecedented. in an ideal world your financial city would have a US like coast guard system, with good radars and stuff. As a man of the public i will say TO THESE POLITICIANS be corrupt by all means mint a good amount but please spend most of it on SECURITY, poverty, educations, infrastructure. corruption is all over the globe at high levels so do it but at least supply security and good smooth administration.
    with our soaring population of over a Billion and many hundreds of million seeing no part of the economic boom it seems pointless. With this whole Pakistan issue, Kashmir. and growing terror within our country they have a safe swamp of a billion to blend into. And people of India just care about themselves, human life is not valued on a societal level as there are so many poor people all over the place with such few chances of a good life. DOG EAT DOG!!

Even the mighty US faces such threats from rougue elements but the law and order there ensures maximum protectivity whereas in India the law and order officials can be bribed with a 50 rupee bill, such is the level of corruption in law and order of our country. how can we rely on such officials for our protection., Its high time we evaluate the people we elect to protect us, Its high time that we stop reservations in our socio-economic, political and judicial sytem and let the qualified people handle the job of our security and running the nation.

    In my opinion there is no point fighting about religious at this point of time. Hundreds of innocent lives have gone just because some people are so obsessed about their religion. All religions basically preach the same thing. Its seriously high time people start thinking about their country rather than their personal benefits or personal issues regarding religions. This way we can never fight as one country.
    Our country is ruled by a bunch of useless politicians who only become politicians to enjoy a luxurious life at the cost of the common people. It is we who elect them. Some poor people of our country readily vote for such cowardly politicians who give them some money or some kind of bribe and make huge promises. What do they do after making those promises? Have they ever lived up to them? The root cause is poverty and of course over population.
    It is the duty and responsibility of people like us who are educated to share some of it with the under privileged ones. If they are well educated, they will have a better job and hence broad thinking. They wont feel the need to succumb to such people who spread corruption. At least we can do that much for the people. This will help us elect a good politician for our country who can run our country wisely.
    We have just become so immune to these kinds of bomb blasts and terror attacks. The best way to fight back is to make people aware, educate them and get rid of all the misconceptions they have about different religions. Before independence, how did Hindus and Muslims live together happily in a society? Why are there fights between Hindus and Muslims only? Why not other religions? We are not proving to be a good example to our future generations. For them, a good and secular India would just be in their history books. I strongly feel its time for us to act maturely and not swear at each other on a forum like this.

    Stop fighting again verbally like this in the comments. Behave responsibly. All Indian needs now is to cooperation to root out terrorism entirely. There are some drastic steps which must be initiated very soon. There should be a directory of all citizens of India and it should be correct and work should be complete soon on a war footing basis. Steps should be taken to monitor every suspicious person, phone calls, internet usages, to get rid of sleeper cells. There should be greater coordination and control among states in law enforcement. CBI and RAW should have extraordinary powers. There should be no intervention from political persons. Recruitment agencies like UPSC should be very Strict and additionally cautious in selecting IPS cadres. There should be additional training for special teams and forces to deal with situation. There should be contingency plans and one handling plan to deal with this kind of attacks. Intelligence should be boosted and key and capable persons should be put in with out interventions to their job profile. There should be national advisory body directly under the cabinet to deal with terrorism. There should be high patrol in the seas and routes of infiltration. Round the clock monitoring should be undertaken seriously. Spy business is not a joke. Only when it works, we Indians are safe. In all major cities, there should be closed circuit cameras and monitoring should be done 24/7. Enough training and logistic support must be created. Recruit men for the purpose. International sharing of information related to espionage is a must. Only when every bloody terrorist is killed and steps taken not to make new ones, can only we survive in peace. I call upon citizens to cooperate as far as possible in this regard.

    i am sorry about the thinking of the people who have commented on these terrorists and the state of the country. instead of calling these attackers names, and blasting off our country, think to yourself....what have you as an individual done for this country?

    the point is how long should we silently bear the brunt of politics and terrorism? has common man no role in the running of this country? arent we a democracy? by that very term we have the right to run this country......not through force and dividing the country for mileage into castes and religions......our country needs our help, and it is high time that we, as the citizens of this country start showing some responsibility..........

    it is we the people who can make a difference, to the political scenario and to the future of this country

    If this is done by Deccan mujahideen , why didnt they blast the Taj and oberoi as they are famous in doing it . If they wanted they could have easily been out of taj and oberio as they had so many people inside with them . WHY are they doing these firing ? think abt it .

    Dear ALEX, you have your point and you have your reasons. These dumb friggin INDIANS are actually a force and the world knows it. In 60 years of independence we have done a great deal. These HINDUS and MUSLIMS you speak of were DIVIDED AND RULED by zealous BRITISH COLONIZERS for decades, and then we were given KASHMIR to deal with in 1947, which the Brits left us with and ran away. We welcomed you guys into our land for trade of goods, culture and ideas and you CONNED us and betrayed us. Even if you are American, thats a whole different story and needs no say. You play games with India and Pakistan and sell the most arms in the world.

    My grandfather did not want to leave his ancestral town in Pakistan to come to India during partition, because his best buddies were all Muslims and he loved his town.

    Yes we have lots of uneducated poor masses who are used for votes on cast, creed, religion etc and thugs and criminals do get elected. The professional Indian middle class man just wants to become an engineer or doctor in such an overpopulated to secure himself so they don't care of how to change politics. All these problems of population and system break down is thanks to centuries of colonization, where we were left in 1947, a country looted, raped and tortured for along long time. We could not recover, the odds were against us. So instead of helping us rectify what you did Britain just chills there and condemns events and talk crap on TV and trough people like YOU.

    So it is you who divided us and we deal with this mess as you enjoy rooney and gerrard score goals(if you're Brit) or watch Sunday Football and Kobe dunk.(if you're American)

    Please get your HISTORY and FACTS right before taking such a strong stand.

    I agree with in toto. This is the most honest, unbiased/realistic evaluation of the psyche of us Indians. And, not for nothing did Mr. Khrushof (of the erstwhile USSR) during his visit to India say that, seeing the state of affairs obtaining in the India of the fifties, the existance of 'Gods' is realised on seeing how the country (India) is run; Perehaps he said something like "If there is any God, you got to believe it is here in India who runs this country" Thanks, Mr. Alex.

    I didnt think it´d be necessary to clarify, but I´m Indian, born and raised; proud of my country, always have been always will be; sadly though I have grown to be ashamed of my countrymen
    The language I used to describe everything is nowhere near as strong as I would have liked it to be

    And before anyone even goes and turns this into a religious issue (once AGAIN) seeing that I am hindu or muslim, I have had the best of friends from all walks social and religious. We formed our own mini communities of friends which were well above any of the unrests that the country experienced. Marginalizing a minority just because the prevalent leaders say you must is not something that any rational human being can be proud of, reacting to this violently because an idiot in a mosque says so isnt either. Its the diversity that has made India what it is, Its what makes it special. Being influenced by cheap politics is all this is. A tribute to our superior education or intelligence??? I think not!!!!!

    If anyone here actually BELIEVES that INDIA THE largest democracy in the world, is incapable of eliminating the insurgents and the small scale terrorism OR a pestilent neighbour that incites all sorts of problems in our country, I dont even know WHY, things that we´ve faced for the LONGEST time, is simply an idiot.

    I agree with you to an extent. I too believe that it is our useless politicians who also play a very important part in all these terror attacks and bomb blasts. All they can do is generate some sympathy for a few days and then get back to their business of eating up people's money just for their personal benefits. India has faced so many bomb blasts and attacks in the past decade or so. Even then, why aren't the people awakened?? After a while everyone forgets everything and gets back to their routine lives. The problem is that majority of the people lack love for their own country. There are a handful who really care.. but are afraid of taking any steps themselves fearing that they might go unnoticed. This way nobody does anything and we never progress out of these things.
    Everyone needs to act unanimously and only then there is a ray of hope that things might change in our country. I really want to do many things, at least I can start doing that by sponsoring a child's education. I'm still very young and a student myself but I am sure I can share some words of wisdom and knowledge with some under privileged ones in my country. If every young person starts thinking like this, together we can definitely make some difference at least, I'm sure!

    On LTTE Heroes Day, they carry out a terror attack. Is it coincidence that this attack took place, the day Prabhakaran makes his speech? He is hoping for a race riot so the present gov will loose the election. Do these daring suicide mission not have the hallmark of the LTTE? Think about all their daring attacks.
