Okay. This a a Certified Copy of a Registration of Birth. In other words this is saying there is a birth certificate on file - read what it says. It says on page 44B Page 5733...this birth is recorded. It can be cross checked. Kenya got its independence from Great Britian in 1963 and became a republic in 1964. Since he was born in 1961 it would make him a British Citizen.

1961 Kenya was under British rule. He's a british citizen. That's just a copy saying there is one on file 44B 4433 (hard to read). Somebody needed this for traveling or something. I hope "somebody" doesn't get to the one on file in Kenya and make it disapear. We should know the truth - finally. If he lied about THIS he would lie about anything and so would our government. They had to have know. Sad.

Wrong, it was officially declared on dec 12 1964. What that means is that on dec 12 1964 everything from documents to flags to presidential seals to birth certificate documents had been changed over to the new Republic of Kenya. On Dec 13 1963 a day after England gave up control, Kenya started changing over all their documents, flags, etc and as you can imagine it would take about a year. A hospital would only have to change a few documents like birth, death, etc which they could do in a couple months time at most.

And how do I know what I said above to be true? I was born in Kenya in 1964, March and my birth certificate which I am looking at right this second says "Republic of Kenya".

Of course you will believe Obama's but you won't believe me.

By the way, it has been known for years that Obama was born in Kenya. Why America is just finding out now says something about what is going on.

Dude, you aren't making sense, please re-read your post. Yes I am sure your BC is for the The Republic of Kenya it was from March of 1964 and your birth country became the Republic of Kenya at least 2 months before your birth. If your birth had been at any time in before Dec. 12, 1963 it would be it would have been certified by the British Colony of Kenya not the Republic of Kenya because it did not legally exist until the Brits gave it up.

Until Barack Obama ran for the office of President of the United States the American people against him didn't know of him and or just didn't care where he was born and that is all it means or says as you stated. Peace Out Brah!

It's sad that every American citizen doesn't want the truth. If he's legal, fine. Why would any American citizen not want the truth? Doesn't the truth count for anything anymore? I don't care one way or the other but for God's sake people, let's have the truth. If he's legal, fine. If he's a usurper it would make him the biggest liar and fraud in the history of America. First off, I believe the lawyer is female, not male (you said "he").

Read the bottom where it says "I...do hereby certify that THE ABOVE IS A TRUE COPY of the entry recorded...."

I have a copy of my Michigan birth certificate. I was born in 1973. At the bottom it says "I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct representation of the vital record facts on file with the Division for Vital Records, Michigan Department of Community Health. Date Issued: October 20, 1999"

Just because that was issued in 1964 *might not* mean anything. The copy of my certificate was issued when I was 26!

Mombasa wasn't part of Kenya in 1961. It was part of Zanzibar. Also, "E.F. Lavender" was a colonial official in Australia around the time of the first World War, not a Kenyan.

I hate citing Wikipedia, but according to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Momba... Mombasa was in Zanzibar, but it was also British territory, and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Zanzi... states that Zanzibar did not become independent until 1963. Thus both Kenya and Zanzibar were under British authority in 1961. By 1964, when this document was issued, Mombasa was under sovereign Kenyan control. So what justification do you have to suspect that they WOULDN'T have the original records from when they were mutually British colonies?

Also, Australia has close ties to England, too. The British monarch is still the Australian chief of state. So if there was an E.F. Lavender in Australia, why not one in colonial Kenya?

I think you are in error. The British took control of Mombasa in 1895 when the Sultan of Zanzibar leased the town to the British. It became part of the British East African Protectorate then. The British administered the town so it was Mombasa, Kenya, not Mombasa, Zanzibar and control was turned over to the new Kenyan government in 1963.

Wrong. The document is not a reprint, per se. It's a signed document indicating that there was an original. It likely was produced in 1964 as part of Mr. and Mrs. Obama (Sr.)'s divorce; see the analysis at http://lamecherry.blogspot.com/2009/08/what-i-c...

When this document was created in 1964 (based on the 1961 records), Kenya WAS a republic.

You are a moron!! It is signed at the bottom of the page by Joshua Simon Oduya, the deputy registrar of Coast Province of Kenya in 1964. Simply saying that a copy was made in December of 64 when Kenya had gained it's independence. On the top, where the birth occurred, it simply says Mombasa which is a province that had been around for a long, long time before BO was born there. You lose! He needs to GO before he destroys our country!!

Being as none of you have actually seen his real one I'd say none of you are qualified to dispel anything the internet has to offer, much less one that anybody can go to Kenya and get another copy. What are you going to say if 20 reporters do just that? Obama has spent a lot of money hiding his past for a reason.

If anyone bothers to look at the copy of their own BIrth Certificate they will find that the date they asked for it is on it. Mine is 2003, the year I needed it for my passport.

There is a VERY GOOD Chance that Obama's mother needed it for either a divorce, passport or in 1964???

People ck out your own Birth Certificate and you will find a date issued stamped on it. That is the date you asked for it.

No, as I just mentioned in a reply to you above, it technically became a republic in 1963 when it adopted its Constitution. The Kenyan Constitution refers to the government formed thereby as a "republic." The Constitution of Kenya in December 1963 declared themselves a Republic. The British just didn't recognize it until after the elections were held a year later. So internally in Kenya they started using the term Republic right away. The Wikipedia and other sources are written from the British perspective, and may not reflect the internal documents of the Kenyans at the time.

If you actually read ALL the history, you'd know that the then Prime Minister declared Kenya a republic in the December of 1964 (he also declared himself President at the same time.) The original Government of Kenya was sworn in by the British appointed Governor General: to suggest that the Kenya's didn't recognize their Government structure at the time is complete rubbish.

If Obama is truly a natural born citizen (which isn't possible anyways since his father wasn't a citizen, and BOTH parents have to be citizens AND you have to be born IN the US) then he shouldn't have any problem producing the documents. Still, there is the problem of the Hawaiian certificate of live birth, the state of Hawaii declaring that Obama's birth certificate is real, and his birth announcement in Hawaiian papers. How did these get there—via a vast conspiracy? I find it hilarious that these birthers rally around anything purportedly proving that Obama was born anywhere but Hawaii while failing to consider the most obvious and problematic evidence discrediting their shenanigans. The birther movement has produced false documents before.

Stanley Ann Dunham's mother or father could have walked into the Hawaii Health Department the Monday after the Friday Obama was born and filed out a form registering the birth of Obama in Kenya to their daughter who was a resident of Hawaii, showing evidence that Stanley Ann was actual a resident of Hawaii, all in compliance with Hawaii law and Hawaii would have issued a birth certificate for little Barry. No doubt they wanted a Hawaii birth certificate so Stanley Ann could have the paperwork to bring little Barry back into the US. Isn't it obvious that this is the reason that Obama will not release his original birth certificate from Hawaii, and instead published the short form that states now issue instead of the copies of the old originals.

I think the Kenya document that has been released by Orly Taitz is more likely genuine than fake.

You are wrong on your date. Kenya, formerly British East Africa, received its independence in December 1963. Please see the following site http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/kenya.htm Additional Note to BobbyG...I know several Kenyans (all in their 40s) and enjoy their "british" accents. They speak English too, All government papers at that time were still in English as they were just beginning to transition from being "BRITISH East Africe".

Hello! Check your dates Kenya became the Republic of Kenya on December 12, 1963 so it was the Republic of Kenya when the Certified True Copy was officially signed on 17 February, 1964. Just Google
Kenya and get Wikipedia, Infoplease, CIA World Factbook and many more show 2/17/1963 as Kenya's birthday. No Wikipedia does not show Dec. 1964 it shows Dec. 1963. Duncan Riley sure isn't the sharpest pencil in the box is he?

You are being a little disingenuous with the facts here, Kenya was declared an independent republic in December 1963 although the formalities were not completed until December 1964, the country had been in independent republic for a year by that time, and calling itself one.

You can always detect a non-journalist when they cite Wikipedia as a reference as ANYONE can edit it. The CIA World Factbook says Kenya was lead to independence in 1963. Given that the country gained its independence from Britain it may be possible that the new Kenyan government wanted to have it's seal on all birth certificates and did so retroactively (in pursuit of a national identity other than its former name, British East Africa). BUT THAN THIS IS WHERE A REAL JOURNALIST WOULD DO SOME FACT CHECKING TO FIND OUT BEFORE PUBLISHING ACQUISITIONS THAT DEPEND ON WIKIPEDIA!!!
