The Inquisitr: Bill Gates Jerry Seinfield Microsoft Ad 2

  • Terry Heaton · 1 year ago
I saw this ad on cable tonight. I really wanted to like it, but it just was, well, nothing. I don't get it, not one bit. It's sad, too, because I'm rooting for it while I'm watching meaningless drivel float past my eyes. At the end, all I could do was shake my head (again) and quietly whisper "WTF?"

2nd Ad. Pathetic. Just compare it with the messages in the Mac PC Ads. At least they were about something. This second Ad is still about "Nothing"

Am slightly scratching my head but I think I know where they are headed with this stuff. By having Gates in it they are "personalizing" the company/products. They are trying to connect with the average consumer as they have the enterprise sown up.

These Microsoft ads are indeed random and irrelevant to the extreme, but... I am beginning to like them.

I'd rather see Microsoft create funny random ads -- which at the very least, keep them in the news -- than try and complete with Apple's ads.

Can you imagine if Microsoft had of tried to make a cool ad? Firstly, it would have mega-sucked, and secondly, it would have simply reinforced the perception that Microsoft lacks Apple's "cool" factor. Simply put, they would have come off looking like absolute try-hards, and everyone would have dismissed the ads within a matter of seconds.

But as it is, aren't you just a little bit curious about where all this is headed?

I bet when the next ad comes out, you'll be champing at the bit to see it.

I love them. I think they are hilarious. Everybody is scratching their heads trying to understand whats going on.

The ads have been featured on all the major tech blogs and on a lot of minor blogs as well. You can't get that kind of exposure for $300,000,000 ;)

Maybe it's about nothing because Jerry Seinfeld's in it. Liked this one much better than the first.

This was a great video. I have no idea how it will sell Windows or Microsoft but I would definitely watch a movie with these guys it would be a lot of fun to watch
