  • Good post Duncan - this is an issue that I've come across more and more recently, deciding there was no story on some occasions, no story (yet) on others, and seeing other blogs bigger than The Next Web going for first, and getting facts wrong and upsetting people. I always think back to the classic movie with Kirk Douglas 'Ace in the Hole' when facing such issues.

    It's a fact that with RSS feeds, Twitter, Friendfeed, Social Media and the like, the conversation surrounding a story breaking is often where the real story emerges and the eyeballs are really focused, but there is always the kudos to the person who broke it first, or who bot the early inside scoop, key interview or telling soundbite.
  • how is there any money on such a blog to pay anybody? sure it was about money?
  • Gregory, you may be very much surprised if you knew how many blogs actually pay their bloggers.
